The BSGM has voluntarily adopted environment
friendly mining technology. After extraction of
minerals from the quarries, it is filled back and planted with trees. The BSGM has already
planted 30,000 trees on waste dumps, office site, waste land, road side and
on back filled area of the mines etc. Common species of plants are
eucalyptus, neem, sheesham, babool, mango etc. The BSGM has provided
separate management for plantation and its maintenance. The company proposes
to plant more than 2000 trees every year in their mining areas.
The Company is taking various steps for improvement in maintaining a cleaner
environment by adopting pollution control measures and large scale
afforestation . It has adopted eco-friendly mining techniques of concurrent
reclamation, thus maintaining ecological balance of the region.
For proper monitoring of forestry works professionally qualified personnel
are put in charge of environment control measures. BSGM even has a team of
experts to replenish the greenery in excavated areas.
